It Started with a Challenge…
100 Flies for a Cause
We support fly fishing organizations around the world through the art of Fly Tying.
The Tie-a-thon was co-founded by Terry Wittorp and Tim Scott in 2006 with the goal to raise as many flies as possible for the Kalamazoo (Michigan) Valley Chapter of Trout Unlimited, Youth Camp.
Terry and Tim convinced fly tiers from around the area to tie as many flies as they could for a good cause. For their efforts, the two had a culmination event at the Elkhart Conservation club; which included tiers coming together for good conversation, great food and a bit of tying. The end results were a donation of 2,500 flies for the kids.
Since 2006, over
361,100 flies
have been donated to camps and organizations!
